Could you please inform me about Nexbox types 1GB/8GB or 2GB/16GB
[Image: information.png]
1) What is each type of memory used for?
2) Can we write to 1/2 GB DDR3?
3) Can we expand this type of memory via SD card?
4) Can we add memory hardware?[Image: question.png]
Thank you

These are  the meanings of ram and rom (1/8-2/16) .....

RAM

ROM

And no we can't either expand or add extra ram only rom (Android 6.0) on TV BOXES ....!
I am new to TV Box devices. So please, could you inform me

1) For 2GB/16GB Nexbox: 2GB is RAM and 16GB ROM or vice versa?

2) Setting in Android 6.0 a 32GB SD memory card (a fast one)  as internal memory will increase RAM or ROM? Will I get a 34GB/16GB or a 2GB/48GB Nexbox?

3) Will the above setting provide any significant performance gain?

Thank you in advance

Hi g_nikolaou,

1) 2GB is Ram and the 16gb is internal Storage for the OS, apps etc. It is ADVISABLE to have 2GB Ram as opposed to the 1GB device. 2GB devices do appear to run smoother..

2) If you add a FAST 32GB SD card , and MAP the SD card to internal memory via the Marshmallow OS you will end up with a 2GB/48GB Device.

3) I honestly cannot say I have noticed ANY performance gain by mapping my SD card to internal memory. Unlike many other Android devices (Such as my Galaxy TAB A Samsung tablet for example) , the Nexbox does NOT come pre installed with lots of "bloatware" , so you will have alot more FREE internal memory on your Nexbox than you would. With a Galaxy Tab A , I only have about 3-4GB free on internal memory for my Tablet. The OS takes up a great deal of Internal memory. This is NOT the case with the Nexbox. Please feel free to ask any more questions..

Regards,

Friz
Thank you very much for your detailed answer. My last questions please:

ROM means Read Only Memory (as in desktop computers)
1) But if I load a program from Google Play (as CCleaner or VLC e.t.c.), this will be installed in internal memory, which means the 16GB ROM (so this is NOT exactly Read Only).

2) If I am right, RAM will be used only for the execution of the program.

3) If I need to do a system reset, it will recover android system and some other programs maybe as Kodi, MyAddons etc. and will restore the initial interface. So If I am right, there must be another ROM memory which keeps the factory data.

Are my above thoughts correct? I am just trying to learn more about this device, thank you very much.

1-YES
2-Generally More RAM Means Faster Execution...
3-From 16g Rom usually you have 11-12g clearly for use...
the other 4-5g are the firmware (I hope that is what you mean !) ....
