A95X R1 Rockchip 3229 - HELP PLEASE!
#1
Hello - first time on this forum and looking for help with my A95X unit. It is the R1 version with 1GG Ram and 8GB ROM. CPU says it is Rockchhip RK3229 and running version 5.1.1

What happens is that unit powers on Ok and load to main menu. After about 30 seconds or so, I keep getting pop ups on my screen that say... "Unfortunately, the process, android.process.acore has stopped." or "Unfortunately, Google Play services has stopped." or many other messages like these with different "XXXX" has stopped. All I can do is press the OK to exit the message but just as fast as I can press OK, other similar pop ups come up.

I have tried to do a factory reset and nothing happens when I click on Erase Everything. I have also tried doing the PIN reset on the AV port and when the unit powers up, it is just stuck on the Ax95 screen forever and I have to then unplug power to get out of it.

I do not know what else to do....or perhaps what I'm doing or the way I'm doing it is incorrect. I'm using a mini-keyboard instead of the actual remote for the unit. Not sure is this may be the problem as well?

Anyone able to help with what to try next? This is as far as my skills go based on what I have read in many places as i do not know what/how to reflash or upgrade firmware if this is what I have to do next.

My Kernel Version is  xfwu@arron-B85M-D3H#5  Thu Apr 13 11:13:40 CST 2017
My Build is A95X-R1_SSV6051P-userdebug 5.1.1 LMY49F eng.xfwu.20170419.162810 test-keys

Please let me know if there is any other info you may need. I tried to provide as much detail as I could. Thank you!

Thanks Gatos814. Are there easy steps/instructions on how to do this flash process manually? I have never done this before.

Hi Gatos814. Im following the instruction on the link above. I have downloaded the files and prepped the SD card. What I am not too clear on is between steps 6 and 7. Do I have to keep the reset button pressed until the update process begins or can I release it after the A95X boot up on the screen comes up? Been holding this darn button for over 5 minutes and had to give up as my fingers got numb! After I released it, the A95X remains on the TV screen and it has been there for 15+ minutes? How long should this take normally? I assume the HDMI cable can be left plugged in as otherwise I would not be able to see it on the screen. What am I doing wrong? Getting tired....

-4- Press the RESTORE button and the process of creating the SD card will start, it may take several minutes.
-5- With the TV-Box turned off introduce the SD card.
-6- Keep the reset button pressed and without releasing it we connect the TV-Box to the electricity to boot it.
-7- Automatically the update process will start, we must have patience it can take several minutes.
-8- To the terminal the process remove the SD card.

It's better to buy or make a usb male to male cable (with 2 old phone's cables using the same color for the connections) because it's more easy and ''safe'' from the sd cards here!
Good luck!

Ok will try that method this weekend, but I'm still unsure as to the reset button question I asked on my previous post. How long do you keep it pressed for? Maybe I don't need to do any of these instructions at all as I may not be doing the "hold reset button" properly in terms of it is until the TV screen shows the A95X logo and release it or still keep it pressed until something else comes on my screen. Can you please clarify? Thank you for your help.

All you need is on 1-B-1 or on 1-B-2 !
Just install on your pc properly the drivers and follow the procedure (depending on one or the other tool) !
I'm here what ever you need!
Good luck!
